Shampoo without conditioner?

I have greasy hair, so I need to wash my hair everyday to keep it looking alright. I've always had the impression that if i put in conditioner, that it would simply undo all of the work that the shampoo did and make my hair get greasier faster. Is this true? Should I only use shampoo? Or should I change to using both shampoo and conditioner?Shampoo without conditioner?
Conditioner doesn't make your hair oily. Oil comes from the scalp. You were blessed with healthy oily hair. It can be a blessing because it tends not to be dry brittle or break easy! What you do need are the right products. look for Clarifying Shampoo for oily hair and a light conditioner especiall for oily hair. What you dont need is conditioner for dry hair. You may have used this in the past and found your hair to be worse and your right. However but with the right products for your hair type you will be on your way to beautiful hair. This will not weigh your hair down or make it any more oilier. It will just make it easier to comb through and easier to deal with.Shampoo without conditioner?
To keep your hair manageable and soft you should use conditioner. Don't use a shampoo and conditioner in one though. Don't rub the conditioner into your scalp, only use it on the back, the tips, and the hair above your neck. This will keep the conditioner from causing your hair to look greasy.
you should use both because the shampoo takes out the knots in your hair, and the conditioner makes your hair smoother
maybe you should leave your shampoo in a couple of minutes and the wash the conditioner out a few seconds after you put it in

I just bought OJON treatment and shampoo and conditioner. I have used it 3 Xs now.. my hair looks worse why?

i followed the instructions even left it in all night. my hair looks more damaged then before...helpI just bought OJON treatment and shampoo and conditioner. I have used it 3 Xs now.. my hair looks worse why?
Ojon can be a little heavy. I used a little too much, and my hair felt like a grease ball. You definitely don't want to leave it in all night. Use a regular, clarifying shampoo and shampoo it out of your hair. I recommend that you just use a small amount, each time. I have realtively thick hair, and it really weighted down my hair. I love the products, but I use them in moderation. Don't make it your everyday shampoo/conditioner, try to use it only 1 time per week, and this should help.

just the normal head and shoulders...all these different ones that everyone keeps bringing out they are just the same but the first one had to be good for them to bring out anymore. they are just trying to make more money...
Elvive 2in1 anti dandruff is very good, altough I use a seperate conditioner every few washes as well.
My husband had dandruff and he swears by Head and Shoulders
Defintely Neutrogena. Quite expensive but worth it. My fella had bad dandruff and tried all the other anti dandruff shampoos and none worked. Neutrogena however cleared it completely after only a couple of washes.
Avon do a really good one
head and shoulders
Head and shoulders...works miracles
Head %26amp; Shoulders for sure !
I find head and shoulders the best.
T-gel by Neautragena
Head and shoulders ice shine
Nizoral is really good!! once u try it i dont think u might need to try anything else

good luck!
head and shoulders it works great
personally i use Timotei anti dandraff shampoo as head and shoulders is a medicated shampoo and will only ruin your hair after a while.
head and shoulders 2 in 1
Try Head %26amp; Shoulder, is good for dandruff. Use cool water to wash your hair instead of hot water.
Head and shoulders.
Head %26amp; Shoulders. I'm not sure if they have it in the UK though but if they do try it, it works great!

Dude above me...I take back what I said before.....what's the point of the finger now?.....Don't be such a tw#t!
Selsum Blue
head and shoulders! it works a bomb for my hair! aslong as you use it all the tym
i think head %26amp; sholders is RUBISH ! i have dandraff n i use pollytar it from boats it about 拢4 and it medicated but u dont have to get it over the counter its on the shelfs and u can use any conditinor with it !
t gel but it smells like tar but really works
head and shoulders
t gel or head and shoulders
Head and Shoulders by far i suffer from majorly dry scalp i stopped using it for a while and it drove me crazy but after 2 washes with h%26amp;s it cleared again. the only reason i even stopped was because it does tend to fade your colour that bit quicker but it is a brilliant shampoo for dry scalps and dandruff.
Head %26amp; Shoulders
head and shoulders is a great all around shampoo. not only will it get rid of flakes, it actually is one of the best shampoos you can use. they recently developed a conditioner as well. i buy head and shoulder for my boyfriend. i generally use matrix shampoo and conditioner. i was out one day and used his, very comparable to mine. give it a go.
I would say Nizerol it is expensive but does work.

I would also check to make sure that it is definitely dandruff. I thought I had dandruff but turned out that I had scalp psoriasis.

The other thing is that you could be having a reaction to some ingredients in the shampoo you already use try using baby shampoo or a more natural shampoo and see how that goes.
head and shoulders citrus fresh

Dove Shine Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner?

What do you think about it? I have somewhat dry hair and i want it to feel a little softer and healthier and i want it to look shinier. Will Dove Shine Therapy help this? :)

Thank You! :)Dove Shine Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner?
I've never used this, but I love other Dove shampoo and conditioner ... But, I would say that it'll help your hair. Dove products are very dependable %26amp; with it being designed to improve shine, it'll most likely do what it says ... Hope this helps!! =)Dove Shine Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner?
ive never used it but some of th stuff that i like is bed head and Paul Mitchell. I think Paul Mitchell has great products.

Dry Hair Care Recipe

Ingredients:

1 1/2 teaspoons Corn Oil

Directions:

Add the corn oil to your regular conditioner, rinse out as you normally would.

TIP: To avoid having dry brittle hair, avoid using hot curling irons or blow dryers, bleaching and perming, and hair dyes....use safe alternatives instead such as natural dyes like hennas. Sometimes lacking nutrients can also cause dry brittle hair. Take a multivitamin and mineral supplement on a daily basis.

Storage: Most recipes require refrigeration since they don't contain preservatives. Shelf Life is approximately 1 week.

Deep Conditioner

The Ingredients

1/2 cup of real mayonnaise

The Instructions

Comb the mayonaisse through your damp hair, then wrap your head in a towel, let it penetrate for 20 minutes. Shampoo.

Special Note: Make sure to use mayonaisse and NOT salad dressing. Salad Dressing will dry your hair out.
You can buy a shampoo bar that is all natural from Burt's Bees. You can buy it at most drugstores, and sometimes in grocery stores.
natural shampoo i know one its called white camellia its in a organic store i think its like 8 bucks its 100% natural it has protein and vitamin e. there is another asian hair product at the organic store for around 30 dollars my friend use it and her hair looks fabulous

use eggs mix with olive oil. cocunut oil is worth a try
i buy a lot of my products for my hair at LUSH their products are handmade and are made from natural products as opposed to chemical based ingredients, the website is www.lush.co.uk and look for your nearest store, their customer service and product knowledge is second to none.

i have tried eggs, avacado and mayo, problem is they tend to cook and they dont smell so great!
Try mashing some banana with honey and olive oil. Use this as a treatment once a week and it'll work wonders I promise. Your hair will smell fab too!!
maple syrup is good conditioner.
Mayonnaise. Saturate your hair with this and then put on a shower cap so it won't drip. Your own body heat will build up under the cap so the mayo can really work it's way into your hair follicle. After about a half hour like this, shampoo and condition. Also, Cat's suggestion is a great one too.
put some olive oil one hour before you take a shower. Eggs can help...

I need advice on a GREAT shampoo and conditioner CONSIDERING...?

...I have very limp and dull hair, BUT when I blow dry it, it looks like it's someone elses head we're dealing with lol. The problem is I can't blow dry it too often because my hair falls out a lot and even more after the blow dry. So keeping these things in mind...I need my hair to be lively with volume and shine, but I obviously don't wanna lose any more hair(Example:Pantene gives me gorgeous shine and volume but it makes my hair fall out A LOT)I need advice on a GREAT shampoo and conditioner CONSIDERING...?
pantene is bad anyway, all the beauticians i've ever talked to say their shampoo and stuff has alot of wax and things that coat your hair.

use volume shampoos, and buy a root boster, then blow dry it with cool air and with a nozzle on your blow dryer.

  • I have a thick long hair..and its getting dry..what is the best shampoo, conditioner and any hot oil i can use?

I have thick hair and i LOVE garnier fructis sleek and shine. Its awsome, trust me.! I have a thick long hair..and its getting dry..what is the best shampoo, conditioner and any hot oil i can use?
I would suggest Avon Advanced Techniques Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner or Avon Advanced Techniques Color Protection Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner. (even if your hair isn't colored, it nourishes your hair more but without adding any extra body, fullness or frizziness.) I have a thick long hair..and its getting dry..what is the best shampoo, conditioner and any hot oil i can use?
I have long, thick hair. I used to use cheap shampoo/conditioner, and it would get so dry. It was awful to deal with because you could hardly brush it, etc. I've started using Nexxus brand moisturizing shampoo and humectress, and it's been great. My hair is nice and combable again, and I don't have any problems with dryness or anything else. It's kind of expensive, you buy it at salons, but it's completely worth it if you want nice hair.

    What shampoo conditioner?

What shampoo and conditioner is best o make hair nice and shiny, straight and silky? umm where can I get it? dont say

drug stores be specific and any other hair product that can make frizziness and poofyness go away? What shampoo conditioner?
I love Matrix smoothing shampoo and conditioner, its in an orange bottle. or just a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner is a safe route so your hair wont get build up from the smoothing line. Biolage Hydrate is awesome. both are only guaranteed in salons. you could get both and alternate to keep your hair from getting used to just one kind. for styling, i would use paul mitchell super skinny serum, or kenra silkening gloss when its wet, then blowdry and flat iron as usual, and finish with Kenra silkening mist...its a light weight shine spray that smells amazing and wont make your hair greasy! your styling products are where you are going to have the most luck with shiny, smooth, silky hair... hope this helps! :)What shampoo conditioner?
Purology is AWESOME. It's specialty and a little more expensive than store brands but all of their products are fantastic. They do sell them at Target (pretty cool bc you usually can only find it at salons). The shampoo/conditioner is concentrated, so you only have to use a small amount each time. My bottle lasted almost a year!
i dont really know specialty brands or anything, but i like Garnei

i dont think i spelled it right...

and you can get it anywhere!
the best conditioner for friziness or any problem would have to be DOVE conditioner( moisturizer, blue cap) . I find it to work really good. it's gives your hair shine, bounce, light weight, and it smell good. I even use it as a cream for my hair. It actually works.

P.s. I have alot of hair and it's really curly . The first conditioner to actually work for my hair type.

hope i helped=) ohh you can buy it at costco.
    definitely Aveda hair products
    ok these are my favs

    loreal

    aussie

    biolage

    avon

    bed head

    and sunsilk

and u can get them all @ walmart except for the avon u get it well from avon!!lol
my hair is really frizzy and i use sunsilk anti frizz shampoo and conditioner and it works really good. also you can use the styling products such as the anti frizz or anti poof from sunsilk. they work really well
I love the Redken smooth down shampoo and conditioner. You can get then at most salons.J.C.Penney salons carry them.
Pantene shampoo and conditioner work the best together. Another shampoo/conditioner that works is Garnier Fructis. You can get either of those at H-E-B or Albertson's. They are both well known for getting rid of frizziness and poofiness. That's what I use. Also, they are affordable.

    What's the best Shampoo/Conditioner?

    that's not two expensiveWhat's the best Shampoo/Conditioner?
It depends on your type of hair. I use Pantene Pro-V for curly hair. It works great because it locks moisture in and anybody with curly hair knows that frizz and dryness are common for this hair type. What's the best Shampoo/Conditioner?
John Frieda is pretty good for the price. While normal shampoo and conditoner at walmart runs around an average of 3-3.50, john frieda is about 5-5.50 but it WORKS!! i use it and i have such silky hair! Its AMAZING! I use John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner. They also have ones for Blonde and Red hair, and well as a straightening shampoo and all their products are fantastic! TREsemme works well too :-) hope i helped! Bed Head Brunette Goddess is also fantastic, buts thats more expensive because its a salon product (about 13 each) but if u have the cash, invest in that cuz it works.
Well i say Pantene Pro-V and Tresemme...well their the best for me so far ^-^

Oooh and my sister says Head %26amp; Shoulder works best for her.

But it all depends on what sort of hair youve got..naturally oily, dry, damaged, split ends e.t.c.

So look at the labels on the shampoo brand to see if its suitable for your type of hair.

    Hope i helped (:

    Peace. x
I LOVE this shampoo and conditioner. it makes my hair SO smooth and soft.

    http://www.jewelboxdreams.com/2008/08/pr鈥?/a>
organix soft and silky for about 6 dollars at walgreens. I believe this shampoo is one of those kinds that have the least coating and product build up, although i would still switch to a clarifying shampoo after a month.
My favorite shampoo is Aussie smooth. It makes your hair so smooth and silky and it smells so good! It's only like 4 bucks!!
The best nonexpensive would definately be Pantene Pro V

Best shampoo & conditioner for smooth hair?

    Good shampoo/conditioner question PLEASE help?

I need to know of a good brand of shampoo and conditioner thats not like 20 bucks a bottle or whatever that will keep my hair hydrated, soft, smooth, and frizz-free. i know thats alot to ask for, but I need to know some good brands besides pantene, equate, and garnier fructis

    THANKSGood shampoo/conditioner question PLEASE help?
GARNIER FRUCTISSE SLEEK AND SHINE!!! It's got fruit extracts and oils to bring out the shine and strength in your hair. Plus, no frizz. Score! I know you want other brands, so Biolage would be my number 2 choice, mayb even number one. It's a little bit pricey but totally worth the money. It's a great smelling shampoo that nourishes and hydrates your hair fabulously.

    P.S. Don't use Suave!Good shampoo/conditioner question PLEASE help?
She did specifically say NOT Garnier...

Thermasilk by Helene Curtis works for me. I have very dry hair and searched for years. When I found Thermasilk, it saved my life.
i rly rly like the john frieda stuff and im rly into biosilk right now (which is kinda expensive), the aussie 3 min miracle deeeeep is also CHEAP and rly rly good, but make sure you get deep and at the moment ive been using bed head moisture maniac and its worked wonders for my hair
Try sunsilk and herbal essences .

In my opinion i think herbal essences is the best!
Garnier Fruitisse Sleek and shine. I had more compliments when I used that than $20 bottles of shampoo. It is only a few dollars each for the conidioner and shampoo.

It does tend to build up, so I would use a clarifying shampoo once a week.

I know you said you didn't want garneir, but that is as good as it gets for your budget. I hated pantene too. The sleek and shine version of garnier is not too bad, and it really did give me the best compliments.
sunsilk is great they have a anti fizz , hydrating one, they basically have a shampoo and conditoner and 24-7 creme for all hair type

the price is like $3.50 each

it works really good if u use all three products

it really does work i tried it

    or

aussie the have a sdyney smooth one that works awesome

the price is $3.00 and up

i hope i help and good luck
your hair just might be fickle.

try to use one product and then when that's out, use a different brand.

i do this. my hair gets ';immune'; to the same shampoo, so every time i buy shampoo i have to get a different brand. my face does this with face cleanser too!!!

    very frustrating.
Try Tresemme Anti Sponge Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner. They are designed to tame frizzy hair. You can find this brand at any Target, Walgreens, K-Mart. You'll also need to apply Tresemme's Anti Sponge Combing Creme to make sure your hair stays frizzy (just shampoo and conditioner alone won't do). Apply after you shampoo/condition and rinse to towel-dried damp hair. Do not rinse.
Anything John Freida, especially his Frizz-ease line (I forget how it's spelled) It works really well. I use all his stuff and I'll never go back to anything else.
I really like Neutrogena. They have a cream wash and conditioner that's fantastic. Also the leave-in cream and weekly treatment are amazing for dry, frizzed and porous hair. I have permed/colored hair and it always feels good afterwards. You can also try Sally Beauty Supply stores. They have salon products that professionals use in salons, but at much cheaper prices, and larger sizes too. I usually get my styling products from there. Plus, if you try it and don't like it, it's guaranteed so you can return or exchange it!!
I like Citre Shine shampoo and conditioner. It's in orange bottles. It makes hair smooth and very shiny. They also make a frizz serum too that is awesome. I also like Herbal Essence Hello Hydration. It smells really good too.
STAY AWAY FROM PANTENE!! Especially their shampoo its wax based so it looks shiny for awhile but eventually builds up and dulls you hair... the conditioner is alright but heavy

Nothing can beat the salon shampoo and there are some you can get 2 for 20 like biolage...

but if you insist on the cheap stuff, go for dove shampoo and conditioner... treseme shampoo is alright too...

dove has more moisturizers in both and its better for not drying out your hair, but if you buy ';walmart'; brand you will have to use a clarifying shampoo once a week to keep your hair healthy
hmm well everyone seems to ask me what i use for my hair and how its so frizz free and straight.. well, i used LOREAL KIDS! i know its wear but it works wonders and its within ur budget.. if you dont want to try that you can try

    - john frieda(really good if you dont have straight hair)

    -loreal (not the kids one)

    -Dove

    -Sunsilk

    hope i helped :-)
well i used to have really frizzy hair so i use Tre Seme its great and there are loads of products in the range
use sunsilk frizz control (i believe). it's in a blue bottle. i have naturally frizzy hair, and it makes it easier to keep it somewhat under control. it's probably the best i have ever used!
    CREME OF NATURE

    MANE 'N TAIL
You said not Pantene... but I really like that, and it has done wonders for my hair! You could try Thermasilk too.

Which shampoo & conditioner? pantene, aussie, dive, suave, tresseme, herbal essence, garnie frutiest??? help!?

i have damaged hair from flat ironing, so what would be the best?

i am looking for something that is not very expensive.Which shampoo %26amp; conditioner? pantene, aussie, dive, suave, tresseme, herbal essence, garnie frutiest??? help!?
definitely TRESSEME!!Which shampoo %26amp; conditioner? pantene, aussie, dive, suave, tresseme, herbal essence, garnie frutiest??? help!?
patene: works decently well, has a fragrant smell yet it is not fruity. my favourite is the classic one.

aussie: works just okay, but it smells AMAZING and the scent lasts the longest out of all of them. it reminds me of the tropics.

suave: very very cheap (around $1), works okay, good for co-washes, can dry out hair and does not help damaged hair though.

dove: works good, smells are okay, they have a line just for heat which would work quite good for you (it's the red bottle).

herbal essence: works just okay, it smells fruity but the scent doesn't last as long as aussie, has a large amount of wax in it.

garnier: works decently, smells good in the bottle but you can't smell it when you get out of the shower.

tresseme: works okay, comes in a large bottle, the smells are kind of bad though but they don't last either.

so my fav to least fav for PERFORMANCE:

    1) dove

    2) pantense

    3) garnier/tresseme (tied)

    4) aussie

    5) herbal essence

    6) suave

so my fav to least fav for SCENT:

    2) dove

    3) pantene

    5) garnier

    6) tresseme
pantene is the worst you can find and if you have been using it that may be part of the problem with your fried hair.. pantene hass way to many vitamins in it . yes some vitamins are good but if you use pantene everyday it is going to give your hair way to many vitamins and the hair breaksz itself from the inside out.

i would recomend redken smooth down shampoo and conditioner if that is a little to pricy for you garnier is also good
I use Nexxus Luxurious Moisturizing Shampoo

    -and-

Nexxus Hydra Sleek Silken Smoothing Conditioner

This shampoo and conditioner is fabulous on my hair and I Love it.

Both leave my hair feeling silky and smooth, add it smells good to!

i love herbal essence! it makes my hair feel silky and smooth, i find that other shampoo's makes my hair feel sticky, and it tangles more. but u just have to try different brands and see which one suits you the best, but personally i love herbal essence or granie fruits
i hate pantene! it weighs my hair down and makes it feel greesy! i like tresseme and aussie! but my hair isnt damaged and dry..so idk what would be right for you..pantene is the most expensive on the list you gave though. just try them out one by one..start with tresseme

Pantene makes good products. Look for an all-in-one with extra moisurizers or for extra dry/brittle hair. I'm sure they'll have something you're looking for.
the best results come from the separate shampoos and conditioners. redkin extreme repair is pretty good.
usually 2 in one shampoos and conditioners suck! they usually dry out hair and dont clean as they should,, but for a very small population, it actually works. just take your time instead. thats why most salons dont carry 2in1 shampoos
Garnier Fructis 2-in-1 Shampoo/Conditioner for Dry or Damaged Hair.
Pantene Pro-V is the best i think

    Does anyone use organix shampoo/conditioner?

am i the only one who is so in love with those hair products that i just HAD to buy 1 shampoo and 1 conditioner of each?Does anyone use organix shampoo/conditioner?
I wanted to buy it until I read the ingredients and then I changed my mind and bought another organic brand. I don't think Organix should claim to be an organic product because it's far from it....I wouldn't put that *ish in my hair.

Also, keep in mind that everyone on Yahoo Answer's isn't from the United States and even every town/city in the US isn't equal as far as stores and what products are available in them....Does anyone use organix shampoo/conditioner?
I used the Shea Butter shampoo and conditioner to help my hair recover from the syling for my wedding. It is soooo delightful and smells amazing! I will definitely try more of their products. :)
Same here, I actually went crazy when they discontinued it from a salon I used to get it at. I have to travel like an hour to get it from a suburb, since I live in a city. I love it! It's the best stuff I've tried.

    A good shampoo and conditioner?

aussie is really good i loved their shampoo and conditioner but idk my hair didn't it made it super soft but made it fall out:( um loreal never tried it and i wouldn't..A good shampoo and conditioner?
i love pantene pro v. it works very well for me and they have lines for all types of hair. plus stacy london is the spokesperson which IMO makes it even better
Netiher. I would go garnier fructis Shine burst shampoo and conditioner. Its inexpensive and works awesome!
aussie is better. but i think you should use Pantene Pro-V. It really helps your hair if its damaged..and also keeps it really healthy, and its smell lasts almost all day.

i tried aussie line, and its way better, but now i use pantene

    Garnier Fructis Shampoo and Conditioner?

Is the ';Long and Strong'; range the same as the ';Length and Strength'; one?Garnier Fructis Shampoo and Conditioner?
Yes, they are exactly the same. I have no idea why they have 2 names for the same thing, but, I think that it's just based on where they sell them. (different geographical regions they call them something different). Another company that does that is L'Oreal. In my area they sell it as Vive %26amp; in other areas it's Elvive. I would think it would be easier (%26amp; more cost efficient) to just call it one thing.Garnier Fructis Shampoo and Conditioner?
    yea i think so

    i love garnier fructis%26lt;3

  • Other than shampoo and conditioner what else can make our hair grow?

take vitamin ,protein food . drink more water.Other than shampoo and conditioner what else can make our hair grow?
Take Vitamins, drink enough water, and eat right, your body will produce more hair, and your finger nails will grow faster as well as your hair.

If you are mineral decficient then your body will slow/stop the production of hair, and of your fingernails... same thing if you drink lots of soda instead of water/juice.Other than shampoo and conditioner what else can make our hair grow?
if you are balding.. you are balding. No food or shampoo is gonna fix that.
well, heat condition can make itr. I'm not suggest you to burn your hair or something..I mean when you feel heat (sun, exercise, etc) normally your hair will grow faster.
Time. Hair in good condition will grow faster too!
believe it or not, healthy hair grows faster than unhealthy one. and avocado helps your follicles. get 2 avocados, ripe. then smash the insides into a ';guacamole'; and rub it on your scalp, and use the paste also all along your hair.

My friend , when I was going to school in Japan, ';teased'; her hair so badly that she had a visible bald spot on the top of her head. She went to a specialist and told her to wash her hair with Phisohex which is a bacterial wash we used in the hospital when taking care of patients. Knowing that washing hair with Phisohex would be a messy routine, I thought the doc was nuts!! Believe it or not, after a short time, using the Phisohex, the bald spot was covered with hair. It really blew my mind and if I hasdn't have seen the results with my own eyes---I would have thought he was pulling her leg!!!! I have never forgotten that treatment, I guess because I saw it work.
Believe it or not, kelp tablets from your local health store. I took some and they made my eyelashes grow so long, they curled back on themselves! They looked fake. They also made the hair on my head fuller and lusher.

Make sure you don't have any metabolic problems before you take these tablets as they can make things worse.
Neither shampoo nor conditioner make your hair grow. There is no way to speed up the growth process of your hair.

I use Alterna Hemp Hydrating Shampoo and conditioner?

Does anyone know if these are good quality products for my thick and long hair?I use Alterna Hemp Hydrating Shampoo and conditioner?
Yes they are great! Try the caviar line of Alterna! it is awesome if you have dry hair! It is kind of high though. Good stuff! your stylist can get you samples of different products from Alterna. Try the samples before you buy! Lots of great stuff to choose from!!I use Alterna Hemp Hydrating Shampoo and conditioner?
Hey.... Hemp produtct work really well with long hair but it tend to make hair thicker, so if this a problem then try alternating products... also don't wash ahir daily.... once every 2-3 days is sufficient for anglosaxon hair types... 1-2 days for asian hair types and upwards of 2 weeks for african hair types.... if you want an alternative natural product go for an aloe vera product or a jojoba based product....

jojoba also makes a great tanning lotion and works well on extremely dry skin and leave it fealling soft in only a couple days of use...

Whats The Best Shampoo/Conditioner For A Really Curly Headed Girl!<3?

Okay SO I Have Really Curly Hair ! And I Live In Kuwait SO ,, Not All The Shampoos And Conditioners Are Available !

%26lt;3Whats The Best Shampoo/Conditioner For A Really Curly Headed Girl!%26lt;3?
John Freida, Frizz ease works best for me.Whats The Best Shampoo/Conditioner For A Really Curly Headed Girl!%26lt;3?
There are plenty you can get, but it depends on the condition of your hair really.

Frizzease is really good, ive used it before and got a special set for Christmas.

There are also plenty of choices, but the best ones are usually the well known brands (e.g. Pantene, Loreal) and they aren't too expensive.

Make sure you Shampoo and Condition hair, and it usually works better if you use ones from the same range, in particular if you want it to tame frizz.

Theres plenty of ';Smooth and Shine'; ones, which leave your hair nice but if you want it to tackle frizz your probably best off at getting a specific one.
Tresemae (dont know if its the right speling)

works well for me and i have curly hair you should try the anti frizz control one though
I hope you can order online because Avon makes a line called Curl Goddess and it is awesome and not expensive.

    I have a shampoo & conditioner question.?

I have thick hair that likes to do it's own thing. It's not wavy, but it will flip out in random ways. I want a shampoo and or conditioner that controls this and repairs the flyaways that I have. Any suggestions for a hair creme or whatever you call it would work, too. I need a shampoo/conditioner/creme that is cheap, but works well too. i basically just want manageable hair!I have a shampoo %26amp; conditioner question.?
Vichy is great. It keeps hair very healthy.

Just straighten it after to keep it manageable, and then spray on some hairspray.I have a shampoo %26amp; conditioner question.?
There is always gel. I like to use Biolage gel which is generally around $10-$15 maybe? Really it depends on where you purchase it. I personally hate spending lots of money on hair products but biolage gel works really well.

You could also get a straightener. Since your hair isn't curly or wavy then you could probably find a cheap straightner that could fix the occasional flips. I have a straightner I bought for $20 i use on my hair..and you can also find ones im sure for about $10. Even if you have straight hair it does help style your hair the way you want it.

I've never come across shampoos that help this problem so I would definitely recomend some type of gel or straightner. I believe a straightner would work the best though and it's a fast fix.

And since your hair isn't curly it wouldn't take a high heat setting or very high quality straightner. So i would keep it on a low heat setting to prevent damage.

    Good luck =)
Sunsilk or Herbal Essences will DEFINITELY have something for thats in their collections. Try Sunsilk Waves of Envy to embrace the random flips or you could try Straight To Perfection, also by Sunsilk. Buy all the products that go along with the shampoo and conditioner. From Herbal Essences you can get Totally Twisted. Both Sunsilk and Herbal Essences are affordable but work great.
I have the same problem. I just straighten it.
Dont straighten ur hair sooo much though.

and when u do make sure to use a protective spray to prevent damage.

  • Is pantene-pro v a good shampoo/conditioner?

ppl say it damages hair, but they also say it makes ur hair nice a soft... my top layer of hair is damaged and rough and dry, but my bottom half of hair is soft and manageable. i'm looking for a right shampoo so is this the right one?Is pantene-pro v a good shampoo/conditioner?
Pantene is excellent. Their new damage repair shampoo + conditioner is especially for getting your hair to grow longer %26amp; it works really well.

The only thing is sometimes it can make your hair a little greasy, so i reccomend using a clairifying shampoo once a week .Is pantene-pro v a good shampoo/conditioner?
Pantene is a really good shampoo and conditioner. Once on a talk show (I think it might have been Oprah?) they said it really doesn't matter what brand the shampoo is, it basically works the same, but I'm not sure if that's true. I would say try it because although it is more expensive than other brands it's not as expensive as high-end shampoo and conditioners. I've used a lot of types of Pantene and I find they're basically all the same. 2-in-ones don't work too well though, no matter what brand it is.

If you're looking to invest in your shampoo Frederic Fekkai's shampoo and conditioner for dry damaged hair was voted ';Best of Sephora'; and apparently is REALLY good but it is slightly on the costly side.

In all honesty, I don't really like pantene. Both my dad and brother use it though, as well as my best friend...and they don't have problems with it.

I went through a time of hair damage and my stylist noticed. I asked her what she though of pantene and she said it was a bad formula because of the silicon in it...or some chemical...that over time could cause hair issues.

If you want a good damage control shampoo, I suggest talking to a hair dresser or doing some research online. I used a got2be line for damaged hair, and it helped a bit. I have found that sometimes the pricier items help a little more, but it's hard to splurge on those.

In my opinion, the best thing for damaged hair is a good hair cut, a repairing shampoo, and a good moisturizing contitioner. I know some people who use a deep conditioning treatment every so often that is supposed to help in keeping hair soft.

There are so many brands of shampoos/conditioners out there...it's hard to choose sometimes. Just do some research, and ask around (like you are now), and try things out.

    I hope this helps!
i have started to use loreal vive pro the pink bottle with pearl protein complex or whatever. you can get it for long hair or damaged or whatever kind you need. its the best shampoo and conditioner i have ever used my hair is always so smooth and shiny now i love it! and its cheap!
too many people have complained about this shampoo to be a good product. while it may work for some people, common sense can tell us that if there is talk that it damages hair, it can't be that great. i use biolage, it's a little pricier, but my hair has never felt so nice!

    Whats the best shampoo/conditioner?

My hair is thin, straight, golden and kinda long.

I straighten it to make it shinier.

I'd prefer a shampoo that isn't too expensive, but really, it doesn't matter.

i'll buy it as long as its good for my hair.Whats the best shampoo/conditioner?
Organix is really good. Its not very expensive and it doesn't dry out your hair because it has no sulfates in it.Whats the best shampoo/conditioner?
    sunsilk, herbal essences or dove

i love those they make my hair pretty lol
I am a professional hair stylist, I have used a number of hair products. The best shampoo and conditioner is from Nioxin, it a professional product so you will need to go to a salon to purchase it. This shampoo is for thinning hair, but anyone can use it, it does not build up on your hair and does not dry your scalp. It is expensive however it is so worth getting, try it for a month and if you don't like it you can get a full refund. Since you straighten your hair, the conditioner(Scalp Therepy) will help to strengthen and soften your hair. I love this product, I will never go back to store brand products. Hope this helps and good luck!
    hmmm.

try the herbal essence collection because it has a wide variety of shampoos and conditioners for different hair types and for a nice, cheap, price. lol. But it does work. =]].

If you dont mind paying a little extra money, then try the John Frieda Collection...it works wonders and is salon used.

Those are just several shampoos and conditioners.

    Hope this helps!

    =]].
    I swear by Dove.

    Wonderful stuff.
I have thin hair too and it is mostly straight it just is wavy at the very tips. I also straighten it.

I've found to make hair bigger, it's all about the cut.

I can send pixx of a great cut if u email me (little_monkey74@yahoo.com) just make sure to mention you're from Yanswers in the subject or a may not read it lol.

I've found that it's not so much the shampoo that makes the difference, it's what you put on afterwards. If you don't care if your hair is flat then just buy suave shampoo which is cheap and is whta I get, and maybe a sunsilk conditioner or garnier conditioner. For body, put on garnier mousse (a good bit but not too much...shake the can and then spray about 1/2 a baseball of it in your hand) mostly get it on the roots and get some on the ends..don't waste a lot on the hair in between. Then brush your hair. I have this aweome hair dryer that came with an attatchment with little like ifngers on it (not real fingers loL) and use one of those, flip ur head upside down and start with the hair around your face and slowly work your way back as it dries, massaging your head with the attachtment (with the blow dryer attached lol) the whole time. When your hair is dry you can style it!

For spray I use herbal essences, garnier for mousse, suave for shampoo, don't use conditioner but my mom says aussie and sunsilk rock (she too has thin hair), and for gel I use some cheap brand no one knows about but I've heard everywhere that got 2 be glued is the best brand ever. I think You can find all that stuff at Walmart.

I think i went beyond answering the Q but hope this helps :)

    Also good shampoos:

Sunsilk Anti Flat (although it doesn't help with hair being flat it is nice)

    Aussie

    Garnier

    Head n Shoulders

Also check out FX and Bed Head products for things like conditioner, shine (fx shine is amazing), and the like.
Shampoo is better; I go on first and clean the hair! Conditioner is better; I leave the hair silky and smooth! Oh, really, fool? Really! ........ Stop looking at me, swan!
I am a biolage fan for life! If you buy it at wal mart or someplace like that you can usually find it on sale shampoo and conditioner set for $19.99 per set. It is a little high, but it works wonders. It's salon formula and has lines in color care, traditional, body, deep conditioning etc.....
    Dove is an amazing line.

If you're qilling to splurge a little then the Humextress or whatever is by far the best brand of shampoo/conditioner out there.
    anything bed head.
The Body Shop makes shampoo and conditioner that's Honey. It's all natural and it makes my hair so shiny! I get a lot of compliments and my stylist says I have the healthiest hair she's ever seen. Plus, it's hella cheap and it smells so good!
the new head and shoulders works good, it is in a pink label ';smooth and shiny'; i think:)
The best shampoo.....I have yet to find but the best conditioner is the conditioner you get when you dye your hair.
try a natural line of shampoo and conditioning, but also look at this side they may interest you...

oh my gosh i use to by really expensive things but i found out that Head and shoulders works the best but you have to get the smooth and silky kind!!! I love it...and i straighten my hair everyday! =)
I've got super long and wavy hair.

I use this shampoo called Biolage. It's a pretty good shampoo, it's sort of expensive but worth it I'd say. My hairs never been in this good of shape and I had messed it up a year ago dying it. Now you can't tell it was ever dyed.
I'm not sure where you live or if they sell it there, but Fruitrience is a green bottle brand, sells for about $6, itz rely gud! Makes hair rely soft n' shiny!
    Biolage.

    That stuffs amazing.

You can get it at any salon... Or I think even CVS carries it.

Kinda expensive but not too bad...and trust me it's worth EVERY penny.

DO NOT use Pantene. That stuff is soooo bad for your hair! It just coats your hair with a waxy substance to make it LOOK healthy...When really it's drying it out. PLEASE stay away from it.
    herbal essence

    sunsilk is good too
Citre Shine works really well its pretty cheap too!!!
    a volume shampoo

I doubt there's anything because you can't exactly get a wave or curl from just a shampoo or conditioner.

  • Shampoo & conditioner help for dry hair?

I have thick, wavy hair (which i straighten often), and though it does get very straight i still have the problem that it's dry, and sometimes frizzy. What would be a good shampoo and conditioner to help manage my hair? Oh, and though my hair is dry sometimes, it does get very oily if i use too much product.Shampoo %26amp; conditioner help for dry hair?
Use Redken Allsoft shampoo and conditioner. Once a week use Allsoft Heavy cream for 10 minutes then rinse it out. Don't put the conditioner on your scalp. Put it on the ends. ( The last 2/3 of your hair. ) Also, before your straighten it use Farouk Systems Silk Therapy on the ends of your hair. It is a clear serum that has silk proteins to help prevent your hair from drying out. It makes it look silky, shiny, and naturally straight. You can also use the Silk Therapy on wet hair and let your hair dry wavy. If you do this system for one month you will have noticeably healthier hair. The reason the AllSoft works is that it has avocado oil in it. Dry hair needs moisture, not protein. If you use protein on your hairtype, it will get more dry and feel like straw. You may be using something with too much protein now. Throw the old stuff out and get this stuff. You'll love it. BTW, I wouldn't do any reconstructors because they are loaded with protein. They are for damaged, melted hair. Yours is just dry.lShampoo %26amp; conditioner help for dry hair?
I use Sunsilk Hydra TLC (it's in a pink bottle) and it works wonders
Mush 8 strawberrys and mix with 1 tablespoon of mayonaise. Massage onto hair. Put shower cap over it, and then a warm towel, leave on for 1/2 hour. Then wash out.

~Gives healthy looking hair, shininess, and will give it a rich gloss~

Apply oils to your hair (Olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil.) Put a shower cap and leave on over night. When its morning, Shampoo and condition out.

~ Makes hair finer, which makes it smoother, softer, and silkier.~

Use a Natural Boar Bristle Brush. This brush takes the natural oils from your hair, and smoothes it out to your hair.

~Gives the hair a shiny and softer look and feel~

Rinse hair w/ cold water instead of warm.

~ Closes the cuticle of your hair and gives instant shine~

Deep condition your hair once a week (I like Garnier Fructis 3 min. conditioner)

~Hydrates dry hair, and gives it a healthy look.~

Lightly beat 2 eggs w/ a little bit of milk, massage into hair, and leave in for 5 min. Then shampoo and condition it out.

~ Gives softness and silkyness instantly!~

Conditioning after shampooing softens the cuticle of your hair.

I have the same problem as you! When you put PRODUCTS in your hair such as hairspray/gel/mouse/serum/lotion/etc...

that's what is causing your hair to be oily.

Try to avoid the SCALP area when you are putting those things in your hair. If you do, not to much. But it's ok if you do a ROOT LIFTER on that area. And NEVER use to much products cuz that can cause the buildup/oilyness as the day goes on.

And to get rid of the frizzyness use a SERUM/LOTION to get rid of it. Never put it on your scalp area to avoid the build up.

And deep clean / deep condition your hair once a week!
use treseme conditioner for your dry hair. in one week, my hair was back to normal. if its damaged, use sunsilk (the pink kind) multi symptom hair masque (that comes in a round container and your can get almost anywhere). its similar to a conditioner, but it repairs your hair and makes it soft, smooth, and shiny again.
Joico reconstructing conditioner its amazing stuff
I recommend Dove Shampoo and Conditioner. Leave the Conditioner on for about 2-3 minutes and I htink it'll get soft within bout 3-4 days. And don't straighten ur hair too much. It makes ur hair dry and burns it. And if you do straighten ur hair, go buy those heat protecter things so your hair won't get burned.

Shampoo & Conditioner for greasy hair?

I've been using Head %26amp; Shoulders shampoo and conditioner for about 3 years now because it was the only shampoo and conditioner i could use, and recently my hair is going really greasy after not even 2 days. I changed to Sun Silk and it was alright at the start but after a month it started going greasy aswell so i've gone back to head and shoulders.

I don't use any hair products. Does anyone know any good shampoo and conditioner that stops hair from going greasy?!Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner for greasy hair?
I'm no expert but when my hair started getting greasy i switched from the expensive stuff to the cheap stuff. It made my hair go a little dry for a day or so, but after like 3 washed my hair went really soft. Or if that doesn't work try swimming a lot more. the chlorine tends to get rid of greasiness. worth a try? :DShampoo %26amp; Conditioner for greasy hair?
I'd recommend a great daily hair care regime to keep your hair in healthy balanced condition all of the time so you can style your hair in the morning and have your style last all day in any weather and permanently get rid of dry, damaged, greasy or frizzy hair. I'd begin with the HerStyler daily care regime, the shampoo, conditioner, styling spray (if you use styling spray), the HerStyler Hair Mask to deep condition and repair damage caused by elements/pollutants, styling tools damage, chemical damage and of course add the HerStyler Serum (to protect while using styling tools, create a silky smooth and shiny finish) and hold your style all day through any weather. HerStyler salon hair care products are composed of healing minerals from the dead sea, natural plants-protein and olive oils that will give you fantastic healthy hair in a short time (you will notice a fantastic difference in the first couple of days). They are very economical as a tiny bit goes a very long way (ie. my serum is about 6 months old and i've used about 1/5 of the bottle). For more info on HerStyler natural protein salon hair care visit https://www.infashionsense.com.

Use a daily clarifying shampoo instead or every other wash. Neutrogena has a good one. Head and Shoulders tends to be a thick shampoo so maybe you need something lighter. And only put your conditioner on the ends of your hair. That should help a lot.

--Why do shampoo bottles open at top, conditioner at bottom?

It seems like all the shampoo and conditioner bottles go with this trend, and I'm curious as to why.--Why do shampoo bottles open at top, conditioner at bottom?
Ha! Good question. Even though I don't know the answer to your question, I gave you a star!--Why do shampoo bottles open at top, conditioner at bottom?
I think it's because we use more conditioner than shampoo and it's harder to get out of the bottle so its at the bottom to let it all settle at the bottom
i agreee. ha, idk the answerrrr, but good observationn!!!
weird, question because mine all open at the top, never had one yet that openned on the bottom.
My opinion on this has always been that they do it that way so when you're feeling for the bottles and you have soap in your eyes and can't open them, you can still tell which one to use! :D I don't know, but that's my theory.

Does dr.miracle shampoo/conditioner help your hair to grow?

I havent used it but I have heard that it is great and helps with new hair growth and repairs the hair you already have!Does dr.miracle shampoo/conditioner help your hair to grow?
Yes!!! My father has really long hair, but it's thinning out in the middle of his head. Now that he's using the Dr. Miracle (super hot growth, red writing) his hair is even longer and much thicker, especially in thin spot!!! Use it.Does dr.miracle shampoo/conditioner help your hair to grow?
the only thing will help hair grow is time, but the products might make your hair healther which would help it grow faster
vaseline works just as well and its probably cheaper

    Shampoo/conditioner suggestions?

I've used herbal essence for a while now. It used to make my hair really soft and shiny, but lately it doesn't seem to do much.

I want to switch products, but I'm not sure on what to use. Suggestions would be great!Shampoo/conditioner suggestions?
if you're wanting something you can buy at your local store then i've been through them all, trust!

my number one suggestion would be the mark hill range. i've used various mark hill shampoos and conditioners and their on par with salon products, especially the intense conditioner which is thick and creamy and smells divine it left my hair flawless and isn't too pricey.

brilliant brunette is quite trustworthy. use the shampoo and normal conditioner, and the intense conditioner in between. my hair was quite damaged and dull prior to using this and after three consistent months of using it last year my hair was much more radiant, soft and manageable.

the lee stafford range is quite good so long as you use a hair treatment in between a shampoo and normal conditioner. the smell is very cheap and nasty though. you should check out some of lee's other products such as the shine spray though which is quite good i thought.

i noticed a lot of people suggest PANTENE, can i just warn you never to ever use this product! i'm not even joking you my hair was so frizzy, unmanageable and dull after a couple of uses. definitely a no-no.

i may also suggest you try either the kerastase or redken range. once you use this you'll never go back, although it's pricey the results are amazing and it's not something you could get from using your average product from boots or superdrug.Shampoo/conditioner suggestions?
How much are you willing to spend? I personally don't use anything you get a drugstores, only ones sold at salons. There are three brands I highly recommend: Aveda, Bumble %26amp; Bumble and Redken. So depending on your hair's needs (your needs) and what you're trying to achieve, it would depend. Aveda's Sap Moss Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner are my favorites, they moisturize and leave hair silky soft and shiny. The two in liters aren't cheap though, the shampoo is $70 and the conditioner is $60. Bumble %26amp; Bumble costs pretty much the same. Redken's line is more vast, and somewhat less expensive than the other two, so you may be able to find what you're looking for here. As for the common shampoo/conditioners, this is purely from word of mouth from friends, they all suggest Dove.
I love suave. It comes in any scent you could want, and you hair is really shiny and smooth (not to mention smells really yummy). You can get it for a buck at Dollar General, and even cheaper at Wal-mart!
If you can get Redken All Soft I think you would be happy with your hair. Or Matrix Sleek. You may have to get these from a hairdresser, but they are soooo great!

Also I have learned that Dove moist. shampoo and cond. are really good as well.

Also you can buy serums that make your hair shiney and soft.
Biolage is very good ans also OJON
I use '; Ice shine'; shampoo%26amp; conditioner, it makes my hair shiny and soft too, and also products that you use for styling your hair doesn't reck your shiny%26amp; soft hair.

I would totally recommend Herbal Essences for any hair type.
biolage ultra hydrating shampoo and balm are the best! i would NEVER use anything else!

EDIT: just finished reading the other answers, and don't listen to people trying to tell you to use drugstore brand hair care. all this stuff is pure crap, i can assure you. i'm not one of those who think the more money, the better the quality, i promise you. this is just coming from experience. i've tried every drugstore brand there is out there, and none of them were doing it for me. please avoid brands like:

pantene(this is the worst out of all of them. contains a lot of wax. looks like it makes your hair shinier/better, but starts breaking your hair after a while, because of too much wax build up.)

Ha! Good question. Even though I don't know the answer to your question, I gave you a star!
i agreee. ha, idk the answerrrr, but good observationn!!!
I think it's because we use more conditioner than shampoo and it's harder to get out of the bottle so its at the bottom to let it all settle at the bottom

Is it okay for me to use one of two different shampoo/conditioners every other time I wash my hair?

I use Mane 'n Tail, currently.

I wash my hair every other day.

If I use PHYTO every other time I wash my hair, is that okay? Are you not supposed to mix it up that offten? Is it okay for me to use one of two different shampoo/conditioners every other time I wash my hair?
the problem isnt that you mix things up..its that you should shampoo your hair that much. shampoo is really harsh and it strips all the natural oils from your hair and scalp leaving you with dry dull hairIs it okay for me to use one of two different shampoo/conditioners every other time I wash my hair?
Yea. Just don't wash your hair everyday or else it will get dry and frizzy
    You're fine!
yes, in fact I've heard it's good for your hair. Makes it shiny.
    yes

    Sunsilk shampoo and conditioner?

Do you recommend the product? I'm debating between the pink bottle and the purple bottle.Sunsilk shampoo and conditioner?
I have the purple bottle and when I tried the condtion it left my thick, wavy hair feeling soft.

    Hair shampoo and conditioner ?

Do you really need to use color treated shampoo and conditioner if I just got my hair high lighted red? Does it damage your hair if you don't?Hair shampoo and conditioner ?
you don't need it, but it helps somewhatHair shampoo and conditioner ?
Red hair color tends to fade the most. So, I would use a good shampoo for color treated hair. Make sure that it's sulfate free. Sulfate is harsh on hair and tends to make hair dye fade faster. Most Shampoos and conditioners made for color treated hair also contain a UV protectant to stop the sun from fading your hair color. Here's an article about Sulfate-free shampoos.

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/Sulfate-free-鈥?/a>
No it wont damage your hair if you don't. But I have dyed my hair red before and red fades FAST. My suggestion would be to go to a beauty store and buy shampoo for color treated RED hair. It made mine last way longer. :)
No, But It does Bring Out the Colour When The Colour Fades

I use Sun silk Brown For Mine (which is natural) And It Brings Out So Many Different tones!

To Prolong your hair Color but it isn't necessary

    :)
yes. hair dye damages your hair. you need a really good conditioner. try panteen 2- in 1 shampoo and conditioner
It's not necessary, but it is better for you to prolong your color for $5 then to have to recolor your hair for $60.
    no it doesnt
